Spurred on by revelations contained in the Daily Mail's Unity Mitford Hitler Diary excerpts, I've been thinking a lot about _resilience_ recently. Unity turned out to be the least resilient of the famous sisters, and she was also the only Miitford sister entirely without humor. Humor is essential to resilience. So, thank you for making me laugh. It's helping keep me strong. ❤️
I agree, your best here yet. And a wonderful piece on Cecile Richards, about whom I knew only the barest professional details. Thank you.
ps When I was a child we used to go to Davos for winter sports. The hotel we stayed at, the Schatzalp, had a world championship bobsleigh run from it down to the town, so exciting that I did it all day and refused to learn to ski. I recently learned that nowadays, there is rarely enough snow for it, so it is almost always closed. Drill drill drill.
Brava, bravissima to all of this. And let us not overlook the loss of the incomparable Jules Feiffer, who conjured the right words and images with ineffable accuracy.
What really nauseated me was the mewling stuff about wind energy…if your television goes out because of low wind energy while you are watching your favorite president, …which came across as a missive to his elderly fixed on Fox minions. Eew…
Super! You never disappoint. “Breasts as performace art?!” Great to see Hilary there and laughing. I agree that Melanie will play a different role this “season.” “Marching Manolos!” Her hat did remind me of Grace Jones. Bono continues to stay in the world. His autobiographical audiobook is excellent. Thanks again for your insights.
Tina you are a balm to the soul - there are so many incredible people in this world yet the USA seems to have managed to combine the worst of the worst. Reminiscent of the 1930’s too much polite deference to an abomination. How long till the MAGA hopefuls sense their new reality.
Your best column here yet.

Last time it was Bernie Sanders’s mittens. This time, it’s Melania’s hat.
I have to focus on the trivia because some days I can’t absorb the enormity of what’s happening.
Thank you for your remarks regarding Cecile Richards. My wife and I were big fans of Her's and the great work she did.

Well, a pleasure again, from your prickly notes on Trump 2.0 to your trenchant words about the great Cecile Richards. Thank you.
Brilliant.
That was masterful.
It was always about the real estate. 🏡
Brilliant, Tina. Thank you. Keep it up--

I loved your Davos bits. To be compared to Ernest Blofeld, that has to sting.
A terrific substack !
The best, most accurate, Davos review since @TheDavosMan on twitter. Proscht!
