Thank you for so artfully expressing what it is like to live in America right now. There is so much going on it is exhausting. No rest for the weary when the news is all about the chaos, the corruption, the cruelty, and the cluelessness of our Commander in Chief.
I have always used Tina as an inspiration for my own writing, because she writes so artfully, so beautifully, that anything she writes is engaging. In a world full of milktoast AI posts and kids using emojis because apparently we've gotten so lazy that we're drifting back to hieroglyphs, it's refreshing to read great writing these days in any form. I have read the first one, and I am going to read the second one soon, and then probably the third. Maybe I'll eventually be a real Royal expert.
So many good books indeed!!! I must say however, Ari Emanuel's book might be a pass. I just can't get past his "buddy friendship" and business connections to Elon Musk. Mr. Emanuel is certainly a shark, super smart and the rest of it, but to be on a yacht with Musk, clowning around, (I have seen the pics), quick frankly, makes me sick.
The same sickness when I see Alex Karp being interviewed by, well, anyone. The same tech bro smugness, rudeness and entitlement. I do wonder if Ari's brother, Rahm, decides to run (no doubt he will), will Ari's close ties to Musk sink him. Definitely something for Rahm to think about.
This week, I am in Washington DC for a business meeting. I did a stroll along the Potomac walking past the Watergate. We did not know how good we had it, when a President did something illegal and immoral, and his party sent him packing. I then walk past the stunning Kennedy Center, lighted beautifully with the reflection along the Potomac. Trump and his crew have poisoned this beautiful building, like everything he touches. It is all so sad. I just wonder when people/Congress/wealthy movers and shakers will come to their senses, and send HIM packing, and his crew investigated and punished. One can hope.
I would love it if you wrote another book. Love your books and comments on the royals. So much to say. Who does King Charles talk to now? Do the royals have a social life? Can William walk quickly into being a King? Does London really hate Meghan? You could do Trump. But why?
I don’t think I could handle Trump taking a vacation THEN RETURNING AGAIN. It’s too Glenn Close-in-the-bathtub. I just want to ride it out until he leaves for good.
As always, wonderful insights and snappy takes. Thank you! Like millions of my fellow citizens, I am desperately tired of the Trumpish logorrhea and so heartily sick of him squatting in my brain. Lately I’ve been fantasizing about the notion of a very specific type of lobotomy for myself which would (in late 2028 or before) completely excise the name Trump from my cerebrum such that at some future point if someone were to bring up his name I’d be able to profess genuine ignorance of ever having heard it.
What a change of pace for Kai Bird to go from writing "American Prometheus," his magnificent biography of Oppenheimer, to "American Scoundrel," his forthcoming chronicle of the depraved journey of Roy Cohn. It must have been something like what Shakespeare went through when he went from "The Tragedy of Hamlet" to "The Tragedy of Richard III." Thanks for the book alert, Tina.

I am dying to read the third book in the Tina Brown Trilogy!!!
Some people think Mitch is just dying, period. .....
Good luck with Trumpo's trying to overturn your $83 million award today. :(

So much garbage in my email: yours is a brisk and tasteful appetitif
Maybe Mitch is AWOL for a facelift. He looks younger in the—methinks bogus—proof-of-life photos than he did before June.

Even Trump needs a break sometimes. No worries, faithful JD will catch him up when he wakes.
Whenever someone younger in the government dies, like LG, you ask yourself, now why didn't that happen to DT, or when is going to happen to DT?
His parents lived to 88 and 93.
MAY HE FEEL HIS MORTALITY ON HIM RIGHT NOW.
I love everything you write!! Thank you!
Tina is the best
and spot on about Trump
Yes please he should take a vacation

A joy to read you Ms. Brown.
You brought a nice breeze into my stuffy room. (my head)
"Sing Along with Mitch"
An old-time TV show.
That's it, have Mitch perform on TV! Proof of life! Unless he's with Lindsey right now...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sing_Along_with_Mitch (proof of the TV show's life)
"The Odyssey" -- Trump would probably kill Penelope and replace her with Melantho and Stormy Daniels.
Mitch is dead. Are we no longer able to recognize AI slop when we see it?
I'm getting Weekend at Bernie's vibes from the photo of Mitch.
Weekend at Mitchie's
Yeah, I think we all are. Keep an eye on August 3rd, that's the deadline for bypassing a special election...
